Abstract: The general-purpose experiments ATLAS and CMS have analysed the dataset collected in the Run-1 and Run-2 of the LHC, studying a vast panorama of processes, in a wide range of final states.
On many occasions di-lepton and di-photon signatures play a crucial role in the analysis strategy. The impact of these signatures ranges from searches to precision measurements, from trigger to performance optimisation.
A review of the main experimental features will be presented together with a selection of recent results published by the ATLAS collaboration.
