Posters will be displayed in electronic form only through dedicated screens, whereas traditional printed versions will not be accepted. Participants presenting a poster contribution are kindly requested to provide:
- An electronic copy of their poster in .pdf format;
- A close-up picture of the presenter to be used for the poster display;
- (optional) a short video lasting approximately one minute describing the content of the poster.
All files should be uploaded on indico by Thursday, May 23, 2024. (Log in and follow the “My Contributions” link on the main page to get to the area for the presentation material specific to each contribution). We kindly ask all the presenters to make sure the file names start with “poster-”, “picture-”, and “video-”, respectively.
The posters will be displayed on 50-inch screens, with an overall active area of 61.6 x 109.5 cm, and a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, with a portrait orientation. The suggested size of the posters is that of the SO 216 A1 standard: 59.4 x 84.1 cm, with an aspect ratio of 1:1.414. (Due to the shape of the screen, and considering the space occupied by the top banner inserted by the system, an aspect ratio up to 1:1.5 can be effectively exploited. On the other hand, less oblong aspect ratios will result in a net loss of useful space at the bottom of the screen and are therefore discouraged.)
The close-up picture of the presenter will be automatically included in the graphical display by the system, and there is no need for the authors to manually insert it in the layout of the poster. The same holds for any additional information related to the conference. The final display will include a QR code redirecting to the pdf file of the poster and a link to the short video, if provided.
The optional videos (in mp4 format, preferably with a portrait orientation) will be accessible through the indico page of the conference, along with the other presentation materials.
A few dedicated stations, equipped with a special presentation mode, will be available on site to browse the entire poster program for the entire duration of the conference. To maximize the visibility of their contributions, all presenters are therefore strongly encouraged to upload all the material by May 23, independently from the date and time of the specific session, so that it can be transferred to the browsing stations before the beginning of the conference.
Note that the electronic version of the poster provided by the author will be converted to a raster image for the purpose of the display on the conference screens, and presenters should avoid using exceedingly small graphical elements of any type and/or low-resolution plots and images. As a final cross-check prior to submission, you can convert your poster into a 4k raster image, (e.g., in .png or .jpeg format) and verify that it is displayed correctly on your computer screen.
For reference, the image below illustrates the final appearance of a sample poster display on the conference monitors.
