Heavy Ions beam test (Nov 2003)
- The S2 hodoscope, integrated in the CREAM instrument under preparation for the first flight (December 2004), was tested at CERN on November 2003 in the H2 beam line with A/Z = 2 heavy ions fragments from a 158 GeV/n primary Indium beam. Multiple measurements of the charge of the incoming ions were carried out by the TCD, Silicon Charge Detector (SCD) and scintillating fiber hodoscopes S0, S1 and S2.

- Correlation between the SCD measurement and the combined charge information from the S0, S1 hodoscopes, located above the Carbon target (preliminary data).(picture below)

- Events where the primary ion does not interact in the upper target section T1 are selected by means of the hits pattern in S2 and the correlation between the SCD and S2 charge measurements is shown (preliminary data).(picture below)
