{"id":1559,"date":"2023-09-11T14:24:18","date_gmt":"2023-09-11T12:24:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pi.infn.it\/pm\/?page_id=1559"},"modified":"2023-10-17T12:52:20","modified_gmt":"2023-10-17T10:52:20","slug":"proceedings-instructions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.pi.infn.it\/pm\/proceedings-instructions\/","title":{"rendered":"Proceedings Instructions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The manuscripts must be prepared according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elsevier.com\/journals\/nuclear-instruments-and-methods-in-physics-research-section-a-accelerators-spectrometers-detectors-and-associated-equipment\/0168-9002\/guide-for-authors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>rules by Elsevier<\/u><\/a>; in particular, they should include some original content and must not have already been published elsewhere or expected to be published in a different journal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The maximum length of the contributions, including author list, figures, and references, is:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>four pages for oral contributions;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>two pages for poster contributions.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>(A page is intended in standard NIM double column format.)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Formatting instructions<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manuscripts should be typeset using the LaTeX system.&nbsp; Authors are strongly encouraged to use the <em>elsarticle.cls<\/em> LaTeX class provided by Elsevier, which is available on <a href=\"https:\/\/ctan.org\/tex-archive\/macros\/latex\/contrib\/elsarticle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>CTAN<\/u><\/a> and readily included in most LaTeX distributions. A zipped archive containing a complete template is available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elsevier.com\/__data\/assets\/file\/0007\/56842\/elsarticle-template.zip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>here<\/u><\/a>. Elsevier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elsevier.com\/journals\/nuclear-instruments-and-methods-in-physics-research-section-a-accelerators-spectrometers-detectors-and-associated-equipment\/0168-9002\/guide-for-authors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Guide for Authors<\/u><\/a> provides more detailed instructions.<br><br><strong>The submission should include main the LaTeX source file, the graphics files for all the figures, as well as the compiled manuscript in pdf format.<\/strong>&nbsp; While we previously indicated to only use the <em>review<\/em> option of the <em>elsarticle<\/em> class, we now kindly ask authors to typeset the document in both review<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\\documentclass[review]{elsarticle}<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>and final mode<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\\documentclass[final,5p,times,twocolumn]{elsarticle}<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>and include both pdf files in the submission. <strong>Note that, while authors can independently opt for publishing Open Access, the Conference will not cover the associated cost.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Submission instructions<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manuscripts will be submitted to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.editorialmanager.com\/nima_proceedings\/default1.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>NIM A proceedings editorial manager<\/u><\/a>. (You will have register as an author if you are using the editorial manager for the first time.) The basic submission steps are&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.editorialmanager.com\/nima_proceedings\/default1.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>editorial manager<\/u><\/a> and click on the \u201cauthor login\u201d button;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>follow the \u201cSubmit New Manuscript\u201d link;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>choose the appropriate \u201carticle type\u201d for the Pisa Meeting (VSI:Pisameet2021) and follow the instructions on the following page.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that, in order to finalize the submission, the system requires a cover letter be uploaded. A generic document will be sufficient, e.g.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Dear Editor,<br>please consider this manuscript to be published in the proceedings of the 15th Pisa Meeting on Advanced Detectors.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Affiliations on Proceedings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>INFN does not specify any requirement on the affiliations shown on the proceedings of the conference.
