{"id":341,"date":"2020-12-28T18:05:32","date_gmt":"2020-12-28T18:05:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pi.infn.it\/aim\/?page_id=341"},"modified":"2022-01-15T14:56:09","modified_gmt":"2022-01-15T14:56:09","slug":"the-project","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.pi.infn.it\/aim\/the-project\/","title":{"rendered":"The project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-columns has-2-columns has-desktop-twoOne-layout has-tablet-equal-layout has-mobile-collapsedRows-layout has-default-gap has-vertical-unset\" id=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-columns-f0f6e543\"><div class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-columns-overlay\"><\/div><div class=\"innerblocks-wrap\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-column\" id=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-column-95f377c5\">\n<p>In the <strong>Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIM)<\/strong> project, the expertise in advanced data processing and analysis techniques handled by INFN and associated researchers will take advantage of the strong cooperation with medical experts of several Italian clinical research centers to develop <strong>innovative software tools for precision medicine<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AIM project will require a focused effort on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>implementation\/optimization\/development\/testing of&nbsp; Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL) and network-based algorithms,<\/li><li>exchange of know-how on algorithms, data access, and codification of common problems,<\/li><li>training of young researchers on advanced cross-disciplinary problems<\/li><li>dissemination of acquired know-how to the scientific communities<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br>to <strong>achieve specific results on clinically-driven challenges<\/strong>, through the development of custom software solutions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pi.infn.it\/aim\/260c8-services\/\" data-type=\"URL\">AIM&#8217;s objectives<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pi.infn.it\/aim\/next_aims-objectives\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.pi.infn.it\/aim\/next_aims-objectives\/\">next_AIM&#8217;s objectives<\/a><br><br><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.pi.infn.it\/aim\/aim-covid19-wg\/\">AIM Covid-19 Working <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pi.infn.it\/aim\/aim-covid19-wg\/\">Group<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-column\" id=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-advanced-column-e1c43388\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pi.infn.it\/aim\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/ballons.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>The AIM flowchart <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Analysis models and pipelines are developed at each site of the collaboration; then, they are iteratively shared and mingled during the bi-yearly workshops. Targeted collaborations with clinical partners are born on specific items and are fostered by external calls. EU and regional funding opportunities trigger ad-hoc collaborations involving the relevant clinical partners.
